Definitely looks like 3 good transfer pick ups.

The parents of GREEDY Collins should be taken out and shot. Helluva name to pin on a baby. (But...maybe it's accurate. ) I wonder what the Collins named their other kids?...Nympho, Angry, Pretentious, Arrogant, Boobs ?????

But I once knew two brothers named: Sandy and Dusty. I figured their brothers were named Claude, Cole, and Clay.

"Before I get to the team there was a change among our coaching staff, Jamie Quarles took the Iona Head Coach Job. I was very happy that he was able to get that opportunity, to replace him we've brought Adam Fisher. Adam will be very valuable as he brings good scouting and recruiting skills to the staff.

This team excites me, and I am not afraid to say it, I feel comfortable in going at least 10 deep on a regular basis, even the 11th and 12th players on the team will push for playing time. We can play small ball, we can play with a big lineup, we have a three-point lineup, we have a defense lineup. The talent and depth will give me plenty of options to attacking opposition teams. Junior guard James Finley and Senior forward Irv Green are back to lead us on offense. Both players really worked on their game in the offseason, they set the tone for the entire team during the offseason. Every returning player has come back improved, James and Irv were the two catalysts for that. Those two along with John Underwood will be our three captains for the season. Having played behind Matt Tibbs, John is more than ready to thrive as the starting point guard. The two other starters are a bit of an unknown, freshman guard Rick Harris and redshirt freshman center Pete Morrison will be the other two starters. More than any other player, Pete has shown the most improvement since the end of last season. He's gotten himself in excellent condition and I feel he will be the player who surprises the most people this season. Greedy Collins, Parker Noble, Maurice Gooden, Lloyd Brooks, Rob Watkins, and Justin Jordan give us incredible options off our bench."

"We only had one scholarship to offer so we definitely had to maximize it. Jeramy Agbai is a player who fits that bill and then some. A 6'2 185-pound point guard out of Providence, Rhode Island we by far is the highest ranked player we have signed. Coming in as the number 44 recruit in the nation Jeramy will be someone who will start day one for us. His vision is outstanding, his handle is amazing, phenomenal leadership skills, and someone who is the definition of a winner. The first time I saw him play live I immediately penciled him in as our number one target in recruiting. While he is not an explosive athletic, his basketball IQ allows him to get wherever he wants to on the court. He reminds me of when we recruited Jalen Brunson during my time at Villanova. That is quite a lofty comparision but I feel Jeramy is the type of person who will embrace that level of expectation placed upon him."

"Before the season started Coach Tyler told us we have the ability to do something really special this season. He's really confident in what we can do this season, to back up his confidence he setup a very challenging non-conference schedule. Our opening game was a neutral site game against a very good Belmont team that went 29-5 last season. They return all of their top players so this is a team we could see in the tournament. We came out the gate flying scoring a 100-86 win to start the season. We headed downstate to Brooklyn to play in the Empire Classic, we faced off against 23rd ranked St. Marys in the first semifinal. They didn't have a chance, our team speed gave them fits from the start, and we ran out easy 95-75 winners. In the championship game we faced an absolutely loaded 4th ranked Michigan team. A lot of our fans made their way to Brooklyn to give us quite a loud cheering section. For a half Michigan was able to run with us, but we knew that played right into our hands as we are built to play fast for 40 minutes. As Michigan faded in the second half, we got stronger and stronger running out 97-81 victors. Our fans chanting overrated at Michigan definitely will make the season highlight reel. After that win when the new top 25 polls came out it was little Buffalo ranked number 2 in the nation. We won our remaining 4 games of November to end the month a perfect 7-0."

"Coach Tyler frequently tells us how adversity reveals a person's true character. During the month of December, we faced plenty of adversity. Irv and Pete both suffered injuries that kept them out for a number of games during the month. We endured a three-game losing streak, in all three of those games Irv and Pete did not play due to their injuries. We have grown accustomed to being the hunted in MAC play but be ranked as high as number 2 in the nation we were the hunted against the top 25 teams we played that month. We could see in the reactions of the Colorado, Alabama, and Miami players that beating Buffalo in basketball was a big deal. It was the first time I've ever been a part of opposing fans storming the court after their team defeated us. Even though we were shorthanded we didn't use it as an excuse, guys stepped up off the bench and provided us good minutes. The confidence those bench guys developed during this month will serve us well going forward."
